Money is good. One of the things the believers of this generation need to know is that money is not evil. This has been one of the misconceptions of the church. The bible says that God gives us the power to get wealth. Money is neither good nor evil, it is neither moral nor immoral. It is simply ammoral. This means it takes up the character of the person in possession of it. Money in the hand of a drug addict is bsd money, while money in the hand of the church or wise believer is good money.

Men should not put their trust in riches. It is the position money occupies in our hearts that makes money either good or bad. We arse not to serve God and money but to serve God with money. One of the interesting things about God is that, He is a God of purpose. We have to understand the purpose for which God wants us to prosper financially. We need to ask ourselves the question, why do I ever want to be rich? Until we are able to answer this question from Gods point of view, we might not yet be ready for wealth, abuse would be inevitable until purpose is discovered.

Wealth creation requires wisdom or what is referred to as financial intelligence. That God desires you to be rich doesnt mean it would just fall on your laps.GIVING it is the convenant switch for turning on the current of financial abundance. Jesus said give and it would be given unto you....... Giving releases grace upon your life, which makes you prosper financially.

In this paper, I will be attempting to give my perspective of the organizational climate in my workplace. I will briefly be discussing my personal observations in several different areas. I will be going into greater detail in certain areas more so than others, yet I will attempt to give a little insight to each and every area. The areas I will be discussing are the following; communication (or the lack of), culture, conflicts and technology.I am currently employed at the largest truck and trailer leasing company in the United States. My current position is a service writer in the truck shop. In this position, I am in charge of fulfilling several different responsibilities. The largest and most important of these would entail being a liaison between the truck drivers, the shop mechanics and also office personnel..Communication is a major part of my everyday responsibilities. In my position I am responsible for communicating with the truck drivers and interpreting their complaints about their truck. This in itself can be a daunting task and sometimes very difficult due to the various cultures I am entailed to deal with. Once I have interpreted the information the truck driver has given me, I then have to convey this to the mechanics working in the shop. It is then that I transmit this same information to the office personnel. A great deal of this is communication is completed through the use of a computer with the remainder being accomplished over the phone..Communication is also severely lacking at Swift Transportation. There is a relentless lack of communication between the different departments in the shop area. It appears to me as though each and every department has its own agenda, which does not include any of the other departments. It would also appear as though each department is attempting to gain an advantage over the other departments.

Cheap custom writing service can write essays on Workplace Observations

I have also witnessed a tremendous lack of communication between the working employees and management personnel. The working employees have found it extremely difficult to communicate with management. I believe that this is due to the fact that management seldom makes time to include the working employees in the communication process. Management personnel are also extremely tentative of informing the employees about any new events within the company..Another area in which I have to be accustomed to, is trying to communicate with persons from quite a lot of different countries with various cultures. Several of the truck drivers and shop employees come from very diverse cultures and it is not always easy to converse with them. Dealing with these different cultures can be a very daunting task at times..As far as conflict is concerned, I do not deal with this issue on a regular basis. Most all of the conflicts within my department, are resolved by middle management. On very rare occasions, I am required to intervene with a minor quarrel between two mechanics or possibly even between a mechanic and a truck driver. I attempt to avoid conflict as much as possible due to the amount of responsibility attached to my position..One of the last topics I will be discussing is technology within my company. This is another major area within Swift Transportation. Most all of the newest and latest technology available is incorporated into the semi-trucks. The trucks of today are not even comparable to the trucks of yesterday. Most people still have the misconception that all semi-trucks emit a massive amount of pollution, yet technology has come a long way. Although the trucks of today still emit more pollution than a typical passenger car, they are required to pass even more stringent emissions requirements than your ordinary passenger car. These trucks also incorporate some of the latest computer technology. They are equipped with a satellite system similar to GPS, they are outfitted with an early collision detection unit and also a climate control system which will shut the truck off and restart it at the desired temperatures..As far a Swift as a whole, they incorporate some of the latest computer technologies available. Some of these technologies include state of the art computer systems, an employee intranet, satellite tracking of the trucks and trailers, among various others..In conclusion, I have attempted to give my best insight into the organizational climate of my current employer. I have briefly touched upon areas such as, communication, culture, conflict and technology..

The concept of Limited Liability for a company can be traced back to the 187 land mark case of Salomon V Salomon and Co Ltd. In this case it was established that the actions of a company, are that of the company and not of the shareholders themselves. This is written into the Companies Act 1 which states that "a company is a legal entity in its own right separate from its shareholders" (Legislative Extracts, School of Accountancy, 001). This law separates the company as another individual person/entity which will be held responsible for the fortunes of the company and separates all blame from the directors/shareholders of the company except under situations where the veil is lifted. This will however lead to situations where justice can not be carried out as people will commit various injustices and hide behind the shield that the doctrine, in the case of Salomon V Salomon and Co Ltd created. This is what the Securitibank principal is designed to counteract, this principal allows the veil to be removed in situations where the result "would create a substantial injustice, which the court simply cannot countenance. Something really compelling must be shown to go behind the veil" (Study Guide 1). The lifting of the Veil that is mentioned in the above concept is "a description of the process by, which in certain situations the courts can look behind the corporate façade and identify the nature of a transaction and the reality of the relationships created. It is not a principal. It describes the process but provides no guidance as to when it can be used" (Watson, 00). If the veil is successfully removed this would then create unlimited liability, directors or shareholders may then become liable for any criminal or financial proceedings that may take place due to wrong or illegal practices. This is usually only done when the company has been committing dishonest activities or failing to follow the proper practices; these may include ignoring legal obligations as in Jones V Lipman, Sham transactions or not following legislation. The legislations which have provisions for these actions are the Income Tax Act, Fair Trading Act, Resource Management Act and The Companies Act. Together they have various sections that prohibit such acts such as dishonesty in trades, tax evasion and fraudulent activities.Incorporation can be utilised by a company in order to make a mockery of justice. In order to keep faith in the court systems the Salomon doctrine may at times have to be ignored. In the case of the Standard Chartered Banks V Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, a director made a false statement deliberately in order to obtain a letter of credit. The director then tried using the Salomon V Salomon and Co Ltd principal to say that he done the fraudulent act under the companies name and that they were vicariously liable. The House of Lords found in this case that a director can not escape personal liability on the grounds he acted on behalf of and for the benefit for the company and in doing so he lifted the veil. Lord Hoffmann summed it up by saying that "No one can escape Liability for his fraud by saying I wish to make it that I am committing this fraud on behalf of someone else and am not to be personally responsible." It is a common view that times for the Irish majority in the 10s and 40s were very hard. Especially for the Irish Catholic families with the stereotypical drunken father, emotionally wrecked mother, kids running round her with her sore back from the next child ready too be born. In Angelas Ashes, McCourt examines his childhood experiences, the tragedies, hardships, learning, all involved with growing up.One of the most interesting aspects of the writing in Angelas Ashes is how the text is written, from McCourts interpretation of the situation at his age he was at the time, the spelling and grammar also indicates that the child is writing, not the adult. This contributes immensely to the emotions and enjoyment evoked from reading the book. It also better describes how a child actually sees the things going around them, and what they may be thinking. Personally, sometimes is made me think for a while about how I interpreted things I saw when I was that age, and the fun I had being a kid with my sister.McCourt describes his brothers and sister, even the ones that died and how much he enjoyed growing up with them, how they cared and loved for each other. Because of the appalling quarters they lived in and the lack of money and food there was terminal illnesses in the family which proved fatal to some of his siblings. McCourt in his child-like writing style describes how his siblings and he, interpret whats happened and how they see their parents reacting. McCourt also analyses how his younger brother Malachy looks up to him and how much he takes Malachy under his wing and takes care of him..Parenting is said to be one of the hardest tasks out there today, especially sole-parenting. McCourt carefully examines his mother, how she copes with her drunken betrothed, how her cousins who married gentlemen are constantly try to run her life, and how she acts as a woman. His father, the Irish drunk who is constantly making him and his brother swear their lives for Ireland and singing Roddy McCorley and Kevin Barry after a night at the pub. How his father will tell him stories about old Irish folklore and get sacked from job after job.

Cheap College Papers on a a book

As Frank progresses into adolescence, he explores the feelings and changes he goes through. Such topics as sexuality, puberty, religion, drinking are investigated and the outcomes are dealt with. It could be said that all adolescent males should read this book for this reason only, what to avoid in growing up through the teen years. While this part of the book is very humourous at times, it still strongly reinforces the point of a dysfunctional family and the effects it has on children..The child - like writing style really makes the book enjoyable and can make the reader laugh or cry at the childs interpretation of the situation. It does however take some getting used to and sometimes you may have to re-read a sentence to make sense of words, or what exactly is happening. Also the lack of punctuation makes it very difficult sometimes to tell who is speaking and what is said as a whole. But by about a quarter the way through the you will be used to this and notice how words are suddenly spelt correctly or are still incorrect, but spelt a different way. This aspect while not being a great one, seems necessary to to the style of writing. The guts of the book is the humour and style of writing, and it would appeal to those who wish for a book to summon forth emotions or humour, sadness and reflections on personal child experiences..

Slavery played a dominating and critical role in much of Southern life. In the struggle for control in America, slavery was the South's stronghold and the hidden motive behind many political actions and economic statistics. By dominating Southern life, slavery also dominated the economic and political aspects of life in the South from 1840 to 1860..By the 1840's and 50's the Southern economy had almost completely become slave and cash crop agriculture based. Without slaves in the south a person was left either landless and penniless or struggling to get by on a small farm. However, even though slaves dominated the southern economy, slaveholders only included about to percent of the population. This small percentage was the amount of people successful in a slave based, cash crop agricultural, Southern economy. Therefore, the Southern economy was controlled and dominated by those who did and did not have slaves. Furthermore, with the high demand for Southern items in Europe and Northern America more slaves were needed in the South to produce these cash crops. Without slaves there would be no cotton, tobacco, or sugar production and without these integral items the Southern economy would absolutely fail. The South depended on slaves to fuel their economy and therefore slavery dominated their economy..Between 1840 and 1860 many political issues, debates, and actions were inflamed by slavery. As America grew, the South wanted more slave states and the North wanted more free states to increase their hold in politics. One important act that fueled the slavery dominated political world of 1840 to 1860 was the Kansas and Nebraska act written by.Stephen Douglas. This act repealed the Missouri Compromise of 180 and called for popular sovereignty in Kansas and Nebraska which under the Missouri Compromise had been free. The Missouri Compromise was originally an act to settle disputes about free states and slave states entering the Union. To repeal this was to almost beg for revolution; hence Bleeding Kansas which included the John Brown riots and caused political uproar. The Kansas and Nebraska act was a disruptive and shortsighted solution to a complicated and commanding political issue. The Compromise of 1850 was another weak solution to the dominating problem of run-away slaves and the issue of slavery in new territories. This Compromise created stronger fugitive slave laws which satisfied Southern slave catchers and enraged Northern abolitionists. The compromise also made California a free state, the Mexican Cession subject to popular sovereignty, and dictated that there would be no slave trade in Washington D.C., but it would remain a slave state. All of these things under the Compromise and the reaction they caused led to slavery becoming an even more dominating issue in 1850 America. Another significant political issue was the

Dred Scott decision. Dred Scott was a slave who had been taken into a free territory by his owner. A Free-Soiler then convinced Scott to sue his master for his freedom. In.1857, Supreme Court Justice Robert Taney declared that Dred Scott was property and not a citizen, and property can not sue. Taney went even further in his decision to declare the.Missouri Compromise unconstitutional and rule slavery could not be forbidden anywhere..Many Northerners, Abolitionists, and Free-Soilers were infuriated by this decision. From 180 to 1860 slavery was a major issue in Congress and the House of Representatives. In a way, it even caused the Civil War and in the end was perceived as the main reason for fighting it. All political issues during this time could not be discussed without the topic of slavery behind it. Slavery dominated all political issues..A Georgia editor in 1860 commented; Negro Slavery is the South, and the South is Negro Slavery, an absolutely true statement. Slavery lead and dominated the South's economy and political actions. Nothing was ever handled in the South without slavery being a part of it. Through good times and bad, slavery was the dominating reality of all.Southern life...

"The Dame-ing of the Shrew.

It twas a day just as any other would be. The rising sun beamed down on the Kaatskill Mountains as though a scepter had fallen from the heavens, glowing in all her glory upon a quaint Dutch village hidden amidst the wilderness. Within this town lived a variety of folk, all of whom were engrossed in the hustle and bustle of the busy markets going about their daily repertoire. People of all shapes and sizes could be seen out and about, the wives and their daughters buying the usual produce and greens, every once in a while with their obsequious husbands trailing on their skirts and ready to perform on command. The children frolicking throughout the meadows and valleys, the not so placid emotions of the drunks outside of King George's Tavern, and the courting couples of the countryside indulging in the wonders of youth. There was, however, a young women not wanting to be bothered by the entire ordeal of lust and love. Though she was the fairest of them all, not one man in all the village could win her heart. This does not mean they did not persist. For the more she resisted, the more determined they became. Seeing this, she realized that by making these otherwise stubborn men do her bidding, she was free to play with their hearts as though she could attach the strings to a marionette's piece. Heart were broken, as any toy would do after being batted around several times, yet all this women would do after "cutting the strings" was yawn and search for the next challenger with the inevitable fate. It almost seemed as though the more she would beat and spurn her courtiers, the more they desired her affection. That is until a young man by the name of Rip Van Winkle happened upon her path one day.

Rip Van Winkle was a handsome, young, man who walked down the road of life while others ran. His care free and well-oiled disposition made him seem as though he needed nothing but the clothes on his back, and whatever food he happened upon. At first glance, the women became intrigued with his reluctance to conform, and his somewhat queer lifestyle. "In no time at all," she thought. "I will have him eating out of the palm of my hand, and this will be my greatest conquest." As hard as she tried, however, Rip was oblivious to her flirtatious and coy mannerisms. It was going to be difficult to get Rip to notice her, let alone make him attracted to her. Frustrated, as well as perplexed, the women again tried to lure Rip into her fool's paradise like the siren sings to draw unsuspecting seamen toward their rocky death. Once again, Rip, ignoring her deadly voice, walked past her with an air of foolishness that only he could project. With that, she gave a huff as she went to devise her next devilish array.

While deliberating in her quarters that evening, the women's mind went off on tangent on several occasions. "Why does not my appearance or nature sway this man's affection?" she thought. "What ethereal inner strength does he possess to resist my milky smooth complexion, or the curvasiousness of my physique? I shall retire to my chambers for the night. Maybe easing my mind will provide greater insight to a Van Winkle proof plan.

Cheap Custom Essays on The Dame-ing of the Shrew The Female Response to Rip Van Winkle

As she slept, she dreamt of the ways that Van Winkle would swoon over her after she won his heart, and the usual look of accomplishment she would display on her as though it were her very own flag, of her very own territory. "Wait," her mind chimed in, ringing a tone that was not quite in tune with her head. "Why am I so appreciative in the illusion? He should be for walking on the same rubble as the leather of my boots!" It appeared that this women's dreamlike self seem to be not smug for winning her prize, but grateful for having her prize stay. "This cannot be so! I must eradicate these thoughts from my brain immediately." It was too late. She had grown accustomed to Rip's infectious innocence and blithe idleness. Now, she no longer just wanted to dominate him, she wanted to possess him.

Awaking abruptly from her slumber, the women, unable to sleep, quickly clothed herself and headed out the door. " Maybe the crisp, night air will awaken me still from the daze that I have been put in.," she thought.

The once active village in the day, had transformed itself into a desolate, ghost town by night. Leaving nothing but the dark shadows of buildings, and the whipping blow of the wind as it echoed throughout and off the Kaatskill Mountains. The women was alone amidst a sea of nothingness. At least until she heard an inscrutable voice that bellowed through the enchanted Kaatskill breeze. "My child," it said. Looking among the buildings the women saw no one, but then again, the voice called. "My child," it rang again. This time, however, as the women searched high and low for the origin of this phantom sound, she found standing behind her a small, stout, elf-like man carrying a ninepins ball that was apparently half the size of him. "Hello, my child," he said warmly. "What ist thou hope to accomplish by being out in the cruel wind this evening? Surely the only thing one may gain is a touch of the pox..

Surprised with the physical form this apparition took, the women replied, " I have some trouble where men are concerned, well…where a man is concerned..

"Surely you jest," laughed the little man. "What possible trouble could you have from one man. You mortals are quite foolish!.

"That's just it," she proclaimed. "This man is foolish. He's idle, lazy, not to mention completely oblivious, and off in his own cloud day after day. My efforts are useless at this point, and I am beginning to comprehend that the only way to capture his heart is to give him a magical potion!.

"Potions I haven't got. Charms, on the other hand, are not as rare," sang the old man.

"Potions? Charms? Kind sir I was joking! There is no such magic in this village," she replied in awe of the old man's childish behavior.

"There is now," he said mysteriously as he held out a hand filled with tiny keepsakes and jewels. "All the enchantment you need can be found in these..

"Well, I suppose since I've tried everything else, witchcraft should not be denied a chance," she said awkwardly, and took the charm the gnomish man handed her. It was shaped like a clinched fist, and shined with the integrity of a queen's gem.

"This is a custom charm," added the man. " It will take on the shape of whatever aspect you desire, and thus enable you to succeed. The fist? You desire power over this man? Well, use the charm wisely, and remember if you should happen to lose it, whomever picks it up shall then be endowed with it's magic..

She looked at the glistening brilliance of it, examining each glorious crevice and shape it had to offer. As she looked up to thank the kind stranger, she realized that he was gone. Not only that, what once was a deserted village, actually was her bed chambers. Naturally she began to perceive that it had all been a dream, yet the charm was still clasped within her hand, and whom was beside her in her bed but good old Rip Van Winkle. Shocked at this sudden change of events, the women, now Dame Van Winkle, promised herself to never let the charm out of her sight by putting it on a bracelet.

Years had passed, and now with children, the Van Winkle's were notorious throughout the village. Rip was loved by the dames and children, who often hung on his every word, not to mention his clothing. However, over time Dame Van Winkle had hardened, and her curtain lectures to Rip were one of her more well-known tactics of punishment. Fortunately, Rip's spirit seemed to be immune to these irrelevant yelling fits, which just made her even more aggravated. Dame Van Winkle, while she had enjoyed acquiring her husband, now felt even more neglected than she did before she had the peculiar dreamt reality several years back. "He does chores and runs errands for the other dames. Why am I so different?" What does he see in other families that he doesn't see in his own," she screamed one day in a fit of rage. Slamming her fist on the table, the clasp that held the charm to her wrist band had broken, sending the keepsake sailing off and landing somewhere amongst the floor boards. Not realizing, she them composed herself and went off to get the children ready for supper, and go about her business as usual.

Coming home after a long day of playing with the children, building fences, and gardening for others, all Rip wanted to do was grab his firelock and dog, his only companion, and retreat to the woods before Dame Van Winkle could scream obscenities at him. Alas, she heard him sneak in with the creek of a floorboard, over time living with Rip had made her hearing more sharp, and off she went to give him an earful of "you should's" and "why don't you's." Rip, of course, did his usual routine of disconsolately casting his eyes up skyward, shrugging his shoulders, and planning as quick an escape possible. However, before he could do this, she saw he had his musket slung over his shoulder. With a "Why I never!," she slapped the pouch of musket pellets, sending them every which way.
