Abstrac.MY EMPLOYER MY EMPLOYER, Inc. is a provider of human resources technology and outsourcing services to Fortune 1000 companies. Founded in 16, MY EMPLOYER leverages its industry expertise and technology to transform its clients Human Resources departments into knowledge-driven organizations. It exhibits many interesting aspects of conflict management, which we will examine below from several perspectives. After examining the companys conflict management approaches, this paper will provide a comparison and contrast of the conflict management preference of its author.Conflict Management Styles Pape.Conflict occurs whenever disagreements exist in a social situation over issues of substance or whenever emotional antagonisms create frictions between individuals or groups (Schermerhorn Jr., J. R., Hunt, J. G., & Osborn, R. N. p 17, 00). The conflict management approaches used at MY EMPLOYER MY EMPLOYER, Inc. can take on many forms. Although the emphasis is on resolving conflict, the differences lie in their approach.

Write my Essay on Conflict Management cheap

MY EMPLOYER MY EMPLOYER, Inc. has no single approach to conflict management. There are too many individual personalities within the organization to be able to establish just one method of managing conflict. It is inevitable that all employees might encounter conflict. As such, differences of opinion with planning, personal insight, priorities, and the completion of common goals can create friction. Some people view conflict as disagreement, inconsistent worldviews, feelings, or behaviors. Some people believe conflict is mutual, but ironically, it does not take two people to engage in a conflict. Conflict exists when one persons feels in conflict with another; although, those feeling may not be mutual or even apparent to the other person. Lines can be drawn in a defensive manner if an individual believes they are being challenged in their beliefs and may try numerous behaviors in an attempt to gain a feeling of power, safety, or control..Emotions generally fuel conflict and can be brought on by particular interactions, participants, previous experiences, or unresolved trauma. Emotions may rule behavior and be a source of power in attempts to resolve conflict; moreover, a display of raw emotion may ignite a conflict. In this type of circumstance, both MY EMPLOYER and this author believe that it may be best to refrain from particular interaction until a more appropriate time presents itself. The single most important component when attempting to resolve conflict is to ensure that person can walk away with dignity. Conflict at MY EMPLOYER is managed in different ways, depending on the situation and parties involved. Interpersonal problems, such as disagreements between team members, are dealt with through counseling sessions between the team members and supervisors or managers. When conflicts escalate to a point that disciplinary steps are required, an investigative team is developed to determine the cause and proper course of action. Both MY EMPLOYER and this author firmly believe that communication is the key. All participants must find the root of the problem and attempt to provide solutions that will allow for the overall success of the goals at hand.To get at the root of conflict, both MY EMPLOYER and oneself have to assess the many complex interactions that make up a conflict and obtain a firm understanding of each participant's behavior. Some conflict assumptions are not always obvious to the participants involved and may be denied completely; therefore, assumptions can hinder one's ability to identify what lies behind a conflict or mask its probable resolutions. Tools that both MY EMPLOYER and this paper's author encourage in successful resolution may include, critical thinking, team learning, planning, objective negotiations, and common goals. These tools should be practical and readily accessible to accommodate and satisfy individual approaches in handling potential conflicts. An example of this author's management of conflict is the belief in recognizing that there is a problem or a conflict may arise because of circumstances of an issue. The author is very quick to analyze a situation or individual to determine what course to take to attempt to obtain the maximum effectiveness. The end goal is the objective. How to determine the course of action can be adjusted according to situational awareness. However, one must keep also in mind that however obvious the logical resolution may appear to be, it is not always achieved or even possible. The conflict may simply be rooted in pure emotion and unresolved past trauma between the parties; consequently, affecting the success of the parties' future.Conflict can be liberating with the right approach. Effective approaches can provide lasting resolution and trust that is inherent in all lasting relationship. It can build productive teams and attainable goals. Some people may respond to conflict in a defensive manner it will soon become apparent, given the individuals motivation to see the effects of this type of approach, lasting relationships can not support this type of behavior if they are to be successful. Accepting conflict as a reality can enable positive progress and unlimited growth..Taking time to plan and accommodate conflict will minimize it because one is facing the issues as they arise and not ignoring a hill that could easily become a mountain. One must be able to untangle emotions and facts while allowing room for each individual to express themselves in a depersonalized manner. This author's suggests that should you find yourself in a confrontational situation remember that resolution is the common goal and if conflict is not managed, it will manage the you.In conclusion, conflict arises because there are differences in need, opinions, and values. Conflicts are usually generated by miscommunication. Without conflict, there is a good chance that a group or team may lose its effectiveness. All members will be unable to understand the position of other members. A group that is able to solve a conflict indicates that the members acknowledge differences and able to'work-on-it' in order to achieve the common goal.Conflict outcome does proven to be functional when it is managed properly. However, conflict management requires a careful consideration. In the occasion of conflict, the ideal solution should satisfy all parties, as in the'win-win' approach..Reference.Schermerhorn Jr., J. STUDY OF RELIGION ESSA.Ethics and Media Violenc.Semester III, Term II, 0.The post-modern world as it stands today, varies with depth, complexity and human response. People of the C0th world have become more adventurous than ever, hence creating endless and fascinating difficulties, as Richard Halloway also quotes, "that is our glory, it is what makes us human and we should rejoice in it". This structured belief may very well be applicable in response to the world's demands on self and others, however, some difficulties that the world are currently facing do not include such elements to be rejoiced in, through many people's eyes. As for ethics faced by media violence, some have reason to believe that this issue is one that could determine the future generations and the well being of the world. Mixed beliefs on this issue have been strongly raised over time, however now more than ever.

Cheap College Papers on ethics and media violence

People turn to ethical frameworks to try to comprehend or even resolve such problems faced by the world. The ethical framework of Utilitarianism is just one example of an ethical framework that appears to be used by many within the industry of media today.Violence within the media has generated gradually over time, with its main purpose being that of entertainment. In the contemporary world, Media comes in numerous different forms, however, each form seeks to entertain its audience at almost any cost. Large companies owners, such as Kerry Packer and Rupert Murdoch, benefit greatly from the press part of the industry, as entertainment means money. The media industry primarily aims to focus on informing the public on certain issues and entertaining them at the same time, however, as time has past and technology has advanced dramatically, certain forms of media, such as film and television, have ultimately desensitised people into believing that strong forms of violence are now just a part of every-day living. What used to be a way of informing information has now manifested into many different multi-million dollar industries.Globally, everybody wishes to be informed, educated and entertained, and in the contemporary world, media is the leading focus for doing this. Technology now allows people all over the world, to frequently access music, through equipment such as stereos, watch television, go to the movies, access the internet and of course by reading magazines, newspapers and textbooks. This means that everybody has access to all of these forms, because it is now that they are all too common. What many people within the media industry, particularly film and television, fail to identify, is the fact that frequent use of strong images or sounds of violent acts are strongly impacting particularly on children's lives. The dominant argument in this respect is that children perceive screen violence in particular, as play or spectacle and tend to become immune to the horror of violence which makes them as a result, less sensitive to the pain and suffering of others. They may even accept violence as the only way to resolve conflict, which makes them more likely to behave in aggressive and harmful ways towards others.More than fifty field studies over the last twenty years have shown that children who habitually pay attention to more media violence behave more aggressively and accept aggression more readily as a way to solve problems. The National Television Violence Study (16, 17, 18) analysed over eight thousand hours of programming on cable and broadcast television. During this study, some of their findings included that about sixty percent of programs were violent, and that over fifty percent of the violent scenes were lethal, and another forty percent of those violent scenes were being portrayed as humorous. Keeping in mind that given the influence of culture and social learning on aggressive behaviour, different results in child monitoring tests in different cultures are also to be expected.Different people from different cultures may adapt more easily or aggressively towards the growing issue of violence within the media. Images and word painting about all forms of violence are flashed across television screens, newspapers and played over CD's everywhere. Nobody can put an end to it, because it has grown into the current world's lifestyles, but it is people's ethical codes and beliefs that rule how much violence is advanced to the public. Although the issue will never be fully resolved because of these issues with ethical beliefs and decisions, people try to form a basic moral belief structure to try and please what the majority of people want. This secular framework is not so commonly known as Utilitarianism..

Please note that this sample paper on ethics and media violence is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. In case you experience difficulties with writing a well structured and accurately composed paper on ethics and media violence, we are here to assist you. GENE THERAP.Gene therapy is used to treat diseases. It comes from advances in genetics, molecular biology, clinical medicine and human genomics.Gene therapy is when you add a gene into a cell. Then the virus has to be modified to have a non-harmful virus-derived vector. This vector is a type of vehicle that can be used to carry a gene to cure the disease.Gene therapy requires the use of tools. The tools need to have a capacity to cross the cell membrane and sometimes even the cell nucleus to deliver a gene to cure the disease. Viruses have been evolving for hundreds of years but we think of them as something harmful. It has taken time for us to modify them so that not all of them are harmful. These good viruses are used in gene therapy, because they have the ability to enter cells. Some of these viruses are.

Write my Essay on scientific arguments for and against gene therap cheap

Adenoviruses, picornaviruses, parvovirus, oncoretroviruses, and even lent viruses, such as HIV..

But these viruses haven't got the same capacity, for example, Adenoviruses and picornaviruses don't integrate, this makes them bad candidates for the long-term expression of a gene (which is needed for gene therapy of life-threatening genetic disease), and parvovirus are too small to package a large gene. Oncoretroviruse.and lent viruses are both dangerous viruses. Another problem is the dosage of vector, too much of this can derive to an immunological problem and causes death.

For more than 10 years, scientists have been working to find gene therapies for diseases such as cancer, arthritis, vascular disease and genetic disorders. But no one has discovered any methods for them yet...

In the past few years there has been a dramatic rise in the number of teenagers who use drugs. Much like in the 160's, drug use has become a fairly acceptable activity amongst teens. Though, this is not the "Age of Aquarius," and we are now much more aware of the many negative effects of drugs. Yet the amount of teens using drugs continues to grow at a staggering pace. Many school officials and parents are left feeling helpless in the war against drugs. The most recent solution to be found has been to enforce mandatory random drug tests for high school students. Mandatory drug tests should not be administered to high school students because drug tests break the Constitution's guarantee against unreasonable searches, the testing is humiliating to students who are innocent, and drug prevention programs are more effective in the war against high school drug use.

The Constitution protects the rights of the citizens of America. Yet many take for granted these rights, that is, until one of these rights is taken away from them. In her story "Why Drug Tests Flunk" Janelle Brown writes, "The key word in the debate over mandatory drug testing is unreasonable. Many feel that assuming students are using drugs and forcing tem to prove their innocence by using a drug test is an unreasonable search. Others for the testing feel that regardless of what rights must be abused, one must know whether or not a student is using drugs" (4). ABC News reports, "Policies like mandatory random drug testing strips the youth of America of their Fourth Amendment rights to be free from unreasonable search and seizure" (1). "The Fourth Amendment guarantee's the right to be secure against unreasonable searches and seizure of people, houses, papers, and effects" (5). When concerning drug testing students are being asked to give up a right that is guaranteed by the Constitution. Those who oppose the testing question if giving up the rights assured by the Fourth Amendment will lead to people giving up other rights without hesitation. Brown writes, "In many schools, students are being told to believe that buy giving up Fourth Amendment rights and being tested is a way of demonstrating patriotism" (4). There are many things that teenagers learn in high school, how to give up their Constitutional rights should not be one of them.

In America's judicial system anyone accused of a crime is considered innocent until they have been proven guilty. Well in the world of mandatory student drug tests, students are considered guilty until they can prove their innocence via drug test. More often than not students who are innocent are humiliated when told that they must be tested. In the article "A Test You Can't Study For" the author writes, "Mandatory drug testing is part of an alarming trend in which all students are treated as suspects regardless of age or innocence" (). According to Brown, "Schools around the country are imposing ever more humiliating drug testing programs on their students. Eighteen seniors in Maryland were pulled from their final exams and tested on the stage of their school's auditorium, because of a student rumor about drug usage at a party. In Texas a school imposed a mandatory drug test for all students. Those who failed the test or refused to take it, were told they would be suspended from school and then forced to pick up trash by a freeway in prison-style orange jumpsuits" (4). Most students are not guilty of drug use, yet they are subjected to the humiliation of being accused of something that they have not done. ABC News reports, "In a school in Tecumseh Oklahoma, 505 high school students were tested and only three students, all of whom were athletes, tested positive. Mandatory testing forces students to prove their innocence" (1). It would seem that assuming students to be guilty would only cause teens to lose trust in both their parents and school administrators. If the goal of a drug free youth is ever to be reached it is crucial that teens respect the authority figures in their lives, instead of feeling wrongfully accused and then humiliated by them.

When a teenager is being taught how to drive, they are not simply handed the keys and given the driver's license test. They are taught how to drive and then tested. Students will learn nothing about the long-term effects of drug use if they are simply given a test that shows if they have been using drugs and deserve to be punished. Brown states, "Many students and administrators feel that drug testing makes a mockery of drug education. Instead of investing money into prevention programs that teach teens the negative long-term lessons about the dangers of drugs, schools pay for expensive test that only teach students that they need to pass certain tests at certain times" (4). Brown continues that, "Instead of giving a student an excuse not to do drugs, give them a reason. Education will last even after students are no longer being tested" (4). Writer of "Drug Testing not an Answer to School Concerns" Hiroko Sato states, "Many believe that testing students is not the proper way to deal with the nation's drug problem, but by the use of drug prevention education" (6). In the article "A Test You Can't Study for" the author writes, "Studies shoe that drug testing can be inaccurate and it has not been proven that testing will stop drug use" (). It would seem that drug prevention education has a more long lasting effect on teenagers than drug testing which would cease after the students leave high school.Help with essay on Mandatory Drug Testing in Schools

Brown wrote, "Drug testing in schools seems to have little to do with fact and a lot to do with panic. When faced with the threat of teens using drugs, parents and school administrators feel helpless. They grasp at the most obvious solution, even if that solution is only a demonstration of how they feel, and does not solve the problem" (4). Teenagers using drugs has always been a problem and now as more teens begin to use drugs, it is a problem that cannot be ignored. Yet, the solution is not mandatory drug testing. It is ludicrous to expect teens to give away their Fourth Amendment rights just to ease the mind of their parents and school administrators. Also a program that assumes a person guilty and then humiliates them will not help win the war against drugs. It would help teenagers more if they were educated about the harmful effects of drug use, instead of just being tested sporadically. Teenager drug use is a huge issue in this country, yet it will not be solved be solved by enforcing mandatory drug tests. ABC News. "Broader Drug Testing in Schools Approved.
