When he arrived he heard that Davy Crockett and his 1 Mounted Volunteers from Tennessee had arrived a few days earlier so he joined up with them in Nacogdoches.He then joined the Regular Texas Army where he was assigned to the Alamo. He then traveled to Washington-On-The-Brazos with Crockett and his, to see what rank Davy Crockett would have at the Alamo. Just Before he left Washington-On-The-Brazos he met Alice Price and took her to church. He went to San Antoniothe next morning. Peaceful was not the only one at the Alamo that did not want to kill someone but he was one of the few. He hoped that after he got shot at he wouldnt have any trouble shooting back. Peaceful told Little Joe Bayless that he thought that he had just come to the Alamo to die because he didnt want to shoot anybody. Peaceful was asigned to the wooden paliside beside Davy Crockett and thats where he died.

It was real interesting to learn that some people didnt want to kill people, and that some people had family on Santa Annas side. I would recomend that anybody that likes books that are funny and serious at the same time read this book because it is a good mix between the two. My favorite part of the book was when Johnny Hays found the Summers girl hidden out in the chicken coop and he wouldnt let go of her hand and her little brother shot his left ear off.
